Weekend in Review | Past weekend adventures

Hello all!

Man have we been busy over here! I thought I would pop in to share with you how our last couple of weekends have gone. Warning: this post is picture heavy!

Memorial Day Weekend:

Bill and I (+ Mya) headed to my parent’s lake place in ND. It is about a 4.5 hour drive (with no traffic). Unfortunately we hit traffic on the way out of town and it ended up being about a 5.5 hour drive. Ooof. But we made it after stopping for some Moe’s for dinner. 🙂

The weather was warm and sticky, but we were still able to get in some lake time. My parent’s got a new dog as well so Mya enjoyed running around with him. The rescued him and he is about 1.5 years old. They decided to keep his name of Maverick and they got along pretty well, despite a couple of tiffs.

June 1-3rd weekend:

Bill booked us a little cabin near Duluth, MN on Amnicon Lake through Air B and B. We headed out on Friday and arrived around 8pm. We could feel the temperature dropping as we got closer to our destination but we weren’t really prepared for HOW cold it was going to be. Friday night we cooked up some burgers and sat by a fire. By the time we called it a night (about 11pm) it was already down to 42*. Brrr. Then Saturday we woke to some clouds and some signs of rain. We ate some breakfast and then headed to Duluth for the day. Unfortunately it was even colder on Saturday (high of 40*), super windy and rainy. We made the best of it though by visiting some different places and even headed to Two Harbors to visit the Castle Danger Brewery. Bill had a couple of beers and I had a root beer while listening to some live music. Then we headed back to Duluth, got some dinner at Grandma’s and went back to the cabin.

June 8-10th weekend:

Bill and I (+ Mya) headed back up to my parent’s lake place in ND. Bill and my dad were in a fishing tournament on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday’s weather was probably the best we have EVER experienced. It was a little warm but as I have said before, the wind at this place is ridiculous. Bill and my dad headed out to fish at 6:30am and my mom and I headed into Fargo to do some shopping, grab some lunch and grab some groceries for dinner and for Sunday. Turns out the guys did really well on the water on Saturday and were pretty excited to head back out on Sunday. Unfortunately the nice weather was short lived and Sunday was SUPER windy (which got worse as the day went on) and muggy. But that didn’t seem to stop them. They ended up tying for 4th place and are pumped to do it again next year. For some background information: My dad has tone this fishing tournament for the last two years and has never placed and/or caught fish to place. So needless to say, it was a good weekend. Bill and I actually took off work on Monday so we didn’t have to rush home after closing ceremony on Sunday night. It was nice to be home by noon and get some stuff done around the house!

A couple of things about this weekend. Maverick thinks he is a lap dog so when he gets tired, he tries to get to your lap. I was able to get both of my favorite restaurants again this weekend, Moes and HuHot. We also figured out how Maverick and Mya can play without one pissing off the other. Tug of war with a piece of fabric.

July 15-17th weekend:

First weekend in such a long time that we didn’t have any out of town plans. On Saturday, Bill and I ran some errands, got some stuff done around the house, got some bbq for dinner and met up with some friends at a Brewery. Sunday I headed into work for a couple of hours to make up some time. I ended up getting 4 hours which is nice! While I was at work, Bill went with his dad and a friend golfing. I really applaud them because it was super gross outside. Muggy and hot with a heat index of around 99*. Then we headed over to Bill’s parents house for some dinner and ice cream cake. We got home around 6pm and I ended up passing out on the couch from 7-8:30. I then got up and went to the actual bedroom to sleep. I think I averaged only 6ish hours of sleep both Friday night and Saturday night.. Being busy + being 8.5 months pregnant = one tired lady.

Speaking of pregnant, I have another appointment this week so I have an update coming for you! I skipped an update after my last doctor’s appointment but I figured that since not a whole lot has changed, I could combine them. So stay tuned for that!

Bathroom renovations are in the home stretch!!!! We are really, really excited for it all to come together! Once it is complete, I will have a big post for you guys on what we used and the process.

This next weekend is our last “plan/hoorah” before July comes. We head to Moondance Country Jam music festival in Walker, MN. Highlights of last year here. We have gone almost every year for the last 8 or so years. It is a smaller festival but big enough that they are able to get some good acts! One of my favorite artists, Luke Combs, is going to be there this year so I am really excited. And I guess being sober will help with remembering ALL of the concerts 😉

Well, I think that is about it for now. Stay tuned later this week for a pregnancy update!

Hope you had an amazing weekend, Happy Father’s Day to everyone out there and thank you for stopping by!
