I’m a hot mess…and I’m okay with that.

Last night, I was WOAH Hold up Ashley. You Might as well address the elephant in the room…WELCOME TO THE NEW BLOG/DESIGN! If you are new, welcome and if you are returning, welcome back! I hope that you find everything that you are looking for and if you see some glitches let me know! I am still working out some of the kinks 🙂 I am planning a whole update on the process but first I thought I would start off my first post on the new site with a Wild Workout Wednesday!

Okay, now we can go back to last night. I was watching Laura Lee’s video on Youtube last night and she said the words “I’m a mess and I’m okay with that”. For some reason, it really resonated with me. I am not a perfectionist. Like at all. There I said it! I like to fly by the seat of my pants. That is how my family has always been. Although, since I have been with Bill I have started to plan more things. Sometimes a plan makes things just a little bit easier…ya know? Anywhooza. Between not having much for a meal plan, not really going to the gym and a busy couple of weeks, I am a hot mess. But really, I am okay with that. I think I am just at a point in my life where I am trying to figure things out again. And there is nothing really wrong with that (in my eyes).

For the last month or so, I have been in a gym rut. Pretty much I want to go to the gym but really can’t find something/a program that motivates me or makes me want to push really myself. Due to this, I have really been trying to find different gyms in the area that offer a variety of workouts. While we were in Florida at the beginning of May, I tagged along with my friend Amanda to her gym. It is called Legion Transformation and it is what the title states it is. A transformation gym. The class that I went to was focused on legs and there was only about 7 people. The trainer played awesome music and pushed each person differently outside of their comfort zone. And I have to say, I really like it! It made me want to do more of those type of workouts where there is someone there to push you in ways that you didn’t really think to push yourself. This past weekend I also tried out Farrell’s eXtreme Bodyshaping with one of Bill’s coworkers. I did like the class but it was really just a preview of how the classes are. And it is super expensive. After looking at both of the gyms, I really liked the Legion place more. So now I am on the hunt for more of a bootcamp gym that can really push me in the gym. I think that is what I really need. I have found a gym that is about 7 miles from my house that has a Groupon for a whole month of unlimited workouts and nutrition for $39. It is kind of like a bootcamp gym but that is really all I know. I know that they have good reviews on Facebook, Google and Groupon but their website is not up right now. Bah. I might just have to give them a call to see what it is all about!

So there you have an update on my workouts, lets do a What I Ate Wednesday (but really Tuesday) post. I haven’t done these before because every time I think to do it I end up forgetting to take picture. GRR. Well this time I got it. Yesterday was a pretty carb heavy day I guess you could say but I felt full at the end of the day and only woke up this morning a little hungry (instead of STARVING).

Breakfast: Morning Smoothie

Snack: Granola with Coconut Creme Yogurt snack

Lunch: Crockpot salsa chicken with quinoa and rice mix, black beans, corn, cherry tomatoes, drizzle of taco sauce and ranch.

Snack: Apple cinnamon rice cake with 1 tbsp of peanut butter

Dinner: Protein pancakes, two eggs, peanut butter, small amount of syrup and two sausages.

Like I said, a pretty heavy carb day but that is okay! Brinner is not a usual dinner for us. Also, have you ever tried peanut butter on your pancakes? NO? Okay, stop what you are doing and go do it. No, it’s okay…I’ll wait! Now, aren’t they the greatest!? I don’t eat it (or french toast or waffles) without it! I have started having smoothies in the morning for breakfast since they are pretty simple to make! I just kinda throw ingredients in there and hope for the best (probably not the best idea but whatevs). Then I have snacks throughout the day or drink a sh*t ton of water when I am hungry. I have started to really watch what I eat and I have learned that just because my stomach is growling, it doesn’t mean that I am starving. Sometimes the stomach just needs a little watering!

Linking up with Wild Workout Wednesday!

Questions for you:

Have you tried peanut butter on your pancakes?

Do you wake up starving?

I love breakfast for dinner…but don’t think to do it very often. I’m not much of a peanut butter fan (unless it comes in Reeses’s wrapper), but I love it on a rice cake with raspberry jam. I love your quote about the tummy just “needs a little watering” LOL

OO I love a little peanut butter on a rice cake. I might try a little jam with it next time!
